How to Configure SnaPatch Settings
SnaPatch makes patch management smarter by automating snapshot creation and update deployment through SCCM. To ensure everything works seamlessly, you’ll need to configure several key settings that link your infrastructure and permissions together. Below is a breakdown of each configuration step.
SQL Server and Database
Specify your SQL Server’s hostname or IP address, the database name, and the access credentials. This connection allows SnaPatch to interact with the SCCM database for real-time update tracking.
Configuration Manager
Provide your SCCM server name or IP, the site code, and a service account with permission to create device collections, update groups, folders, and deployments.
VMware vCenter / Microsoft SCVMM
Input the connection details for all VMware vCenter or SCVMM servers in your environment. You’ll also need credentials that allow for creating and deleting snapshots.
Service Account
This account should be a domain user and a local administrator on all target machines. It may also serve to authenticate against SCCM, vCenter, and SQL depending on your setup.
Email Notifications
Set up SMTP email settings including the mail server, port, and authentication details. You can configure up to two recipient email addresses to receive job status notifications.
With these settings properly configured, SnaPatch will be ready to coordinate patch deployments with snapshot protection — ensuring your systems stay secure and recoverable
